Why BioPak is Supporting the 2026 PKN Women in Packaging Awards

The PKN Women in Packaging Awards is coming up on 25 June 2026, with this year’s theme, “Celebrating leadership excellence in the Australasian packaging industry.” 

As the packaging industry faces ongoing and complex challenges – from manufacturing and resources to circularity – we believe better solutions depend on a wide range of perspectives across the system. That’s why we're proud to get behind these awards.  

The awards recognise the achievements of women across the packaging value chain, from design and manufacturing to sustainability and leadership, highlighting those driving meaningful change across the industry. 

While we’ve witnessed progress in recent years, women remain underrepresented across many areas of the packaging sector – including technical, operational and senior leadership roles.  

At the same time, the packaging industry is undergoing significant change — from evolving regulation and material innovation to the realities of recovery infrastructure. 

Addressing these challenges requires stronger collaboration, broader thinking and more diverse perspectives across the system. 

The PKN Women in Packaging Awards highlight the women helping to navigate this complexity. Leaders who are turning intent into action and driving better outcomes across circularity, resource efficiency and the systems that sit behind them. 

We see firsthand how complex the packaging landscape has become. Progress doesn’t come from products alone, it depends on informed, collaborative leadership across the entire value chain.

Organised by Packaging News,  the PKN Women in Packaging Awards will shine a spotlight on professionals who are shaping the future of packaging through their expertise, collaboration and commitment to better outcomes. 

 According to their website, “The PKN Women in Packaging Awards plays a critical role in elevating high performers and creating visible pathways for the next generation of female leaders.” 

The awards also recognise the role of increasing diversity in driving collaboration, innovation, and systems thinking in addressing the industry’s biggest challenges. 

The awards will be presented in a cocktail presentation in Melbourne on 25 June 2026, featuring six categories:
