The BioPak Group just launched our 2025 Impact Report, marking our positive impact, material evolution, advocacy efforts and the challenges we continue to navigate. After nearly two decades of championing compostable packaging alternatives and renewable materials, we’re looking ahead to our next horizon: resetting the systems that enable meaningful change for people and planet.
A Word from BioPak Group’s New CEO, Guy Brent
With his recent appointment as CEO of the BioPak Group in February 2026, Guy Brent’s opening message reflects both our momentum and where we’re heading next.
In 2025, we continued to strengthen our impact across product innovation, supply chain transparency and social investment — including a $508,988 contribution through our Give Back Fund.
As Brent notes:
“With our 2025 contribution, the Give Back Fund has totaled $5,807,068 worth of BioPak investment into charity and environmental partners.”
Alongside this, we continued to expand our product portfolio and capabilities — welcoming Bygreen and building on our acquisitions of Huskee and decent packaging. This expansion strengthens our ability to support customers across reusable, recyclable and compostable solutions.
These milestones mark a period of growth, but also signal a broader shift. As we approach our 20th anniversary in 2026, our focus is moving beyond product innovation alone and toward resetting the systems that enable meaningful change.

Profit for Purpose: Give Back Fund Continues
As a B Corp and profit-for-purpose business, we’ve committed 5% of profits to positive change through our Give Back Fund — a commitment we’ve met every year.
Working with our charity partners, the Fund drives measurable outcomes across tree planting and restoration, food security and global health initiatives (supporting Sustainable Development Goals 2, 3, 13 and 15).

In 2025, 1% of our profits were directed to Rainforest Rescue, supporting the planting of 6,240 trees (SDGs 13 and 15). We also helped provide 463,924 meals through OzHarvest, KiwiHarvest, and Foodbank (SDGs 2 and 3) and supported an estimated 200,000 lives through MedEarth, which repurposes medical equipment otherwise destined for landfill (SDG 3).
In 2026, we’re aiming to surpass $6,000,000 in total contributions through the Give Back Fund.

This positive impact serves as a long-standing demonstration of BioPak’s founding belief: business can be a force for good.

Let’s Talk About Emissions
In 2025, we continued to actively track against our Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) targets to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Yet as we grow and expand, meeting these targets will become increasingly complex.
While absolute emissions may fluctuate with increased production volumes and rising customer demand, emissions intensity per tonne of product sold provides an important measure of carbon efficiency. Since 2023, Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity has decreased by more than 21% through ongoing operational and energy-efficiency improvements. Scope 3 emissions intensity levels has also declined by approximately 7% compare to 2023, reflecting improved efficiency across our operations and value chain.

Looking forward, we’re focussing on other ways we can reduce our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
Across our operations, we’re progressing toward a 100% electric vehicle fleet under, with 57% already fully electric in 2025 and the remainder transitioning as leases expire. We’re installing solar at our UK warehouse in 2026, expected to generate around 1 GWh of renewable electricity per year.
Scope 3 remains our most significant focus area, accounting for the majority of our emissions. We’re continuing to develop lower-emissions products, work with manufacturing and logistics partners to reduce supply chain emissions and improve end-of-life outcomes through composting access and education. To support this, we’re implementing CarbonSuite to improve product-level emissions visibility and guide lower-emissions design and sourcing decisions over time.
We place a strong emphasis on accountability and measurement — using better data to understand where emissions occur and make more informed decisions to reduce them.

Product Innovation and Highlights
Across our four brands, we prioritise rapidly renewable, reclaimed and plant-based materials as alternatives to conventional fossil fuel-based plastics.
Our 2025 product highlights and releases:

We continued to work closely with customers to design custom packaging solutions that support shared sustainability goals — without compromising on performance or brand impact. This includes compostable packaging developed for Zeus Street Greek, demonstrating how tailored design can bring together strong brand presence, circular materials and better packaging outcomes.

People and Culture: Driving Change Together
Our goal is to ensure our 280 BioCrew staff across 6 countries feel engaged, supported and included, serving SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
Over the past year, we’ve strengthened our employment systems, including access to Employment Hero, a cloud-based Human Resources and Employment Management platform. We also provide all staff with access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This includes confidential support from qualified psychologists, available to employees but also to their family members.

Looking Ahead: Advocating for a Systems Reset
BioPak’s 2025 Impact Report reflects not just the progress we’ve made, but a shift in how we think about sustainability. While previous years focused on material innovation and product development, our attention is increasingly turning to the systems that determine real-world outcomes.
As we approach our 20th anniversary, our focus is shifting toward advocating for systemic change — calling for a systems reset that better aligns packaging design, recovery infrastructure, regulation and real-world data. Because sustainability outcomes are not driven by product choice alone, but by how these elements work together in practice.
This next phase of work is about moving beyond material debates and toward solutions that are evidence-based, infrastructure-aware and capable of delivering measurable outcomes at scale. It also means continuing to work closely with industry, regulators and partners to improve recovery systems, strengthen policy settings and expand access to composting and waste services.
